What's your favourite film noir score, and why? Choose one, or a few if you can't pick just a single one.
I have to say my favourite is "Double Indemnity", composed by Miklós Rózsa. To me, it really defines the spirit of film noir, and seems to be one with the visuals all the way through. It enhances, develops and follows the characters and locations perfectly.
Runner-up: "Sunset Blvd." by Franz Waxman.
Ten Commandments , Ben Hur ,Sound of Music. The music score for these add so much to the story as well as character developement as the story line proceeds.

The movies you mentioned, although great, aren't film noir... "Ben Hur" and "Ten Commandments" are 'epic adventures', and "Sound of Music" is a film based on a musical.
