Aye! And there are going to be a lot of wonderful concerts and competitions across the country.
I'm so content to be able to go to at least some of them.

I really like good old Chopin, must have a listen to his music to celebrate.

Margaret, I remember studying one of his Ballades (A flat major) in high school for an examination and still adore this work in particualr.

Still one of my favorite composers!

How about the Chopin Piano Competition this year? Will it be broadcasted online?

Andante Spianato & Grande Polonaise Brillante remains my all-time favorite solo-piano work!

That, Liszt's Missa Solemnis and Chopin's 2nd piano concerto was performed today by Lang Lang and Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra as the opening concert of Chopin's year. It was broadcast by Polish television. Unfortunately, I saw only the second and third part of the f minor concerto.

There are several concerts here scheduled in March celebrating this anniversary. One of the professors at the university is presenting all Chopin Preludes in a solo recital and several students are also organizing a recital as well, should be fairly interesting.
