    BWV 565 at work

Now this probably won't work as I'm unsure how to upload "music" files, but here goes. This was recorded in the College chapel, where I work. Let me know what you think, it's a smallish two manual organ.

For some inexplicable reason I can't upload the sound file ... still waiting for Lars, Robin or Frederik to help ... *sigh*
I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God.

I get this error message when uploading (I do know how uploads work).

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

    Hi David,

That's the same error message I got on the larger file, too.
Frederik has already taken note of these posts, so a resolve will be forthcoming.

    an idea

    Hi David and Lars
    Is your file a Mp3 or a video ?
May be you can do the following : register on face book, post your video or mp3 on your channel and place a link in this forum. I did that a few minutes ago. Big files are allowed.

You can do the same with you tube. You can upload only a video, but you can make a video without pictures. For the video, you can use Windows movies maker or AVS4You (try the free version).
    Friendly yours. Jean-Paul

That's a nice idea, J-Paul. Wondering though. if I were to link in the manner you describe, would I then be opening up my "wall" to the general public, too?

I shan't be posting the video on either Facebook nor YouTube. But thanks for your suggestion. I kind of figured that it was a file size issue.

If the file is under 300MB, you can post it on sendspace.com.

    Hi guys !

As you may know I have uploaded music played by me three times here in the forum.
I had the same problem on my first and finaly I uderstood that the file to upload must be just under 20MB.
My first was in .wav format witch eats more memory, so my next two were in mp3.
I recorded in wav and then converted to mp3 and saved memory to upload.

My friend CT 565 is a large (for memory) work, I'm in the near future for upload my version too, so here's my advice
Split toccata & fugue to two separate pieces and make two attachments 20MB each in mp3 format.
Toccata will fit ok. The fugue I'm not sure, it depends on how fast you play it to save time. On the other hand if you played moderate and ended with more than 20MB try to lower the quality option on your mp3 converter to come up with a memory near or exactly 20MB, so the forum server will let you upload.
I've been thru this here, so I know.

    I hope I helped
    Cheers
    Panos

    Hey CT !
Still waitin' for your performance on 565 !
Are you still havin' problems with upload to the forum ?
Are you tryin' to "fix" your recording to 20MB limits per attachment?

I would very much enjoy some playin' of yours on the real thing !

    Cheers

I don't have the energy, time or software to resize the audio file or split it I'm afraid.

Further to this, I've just spoken to one of the guys where I work (sound engineer) he's going to try and get it to under 20MB and Mp3 in format so I can upload it ... watch this space.

    David,

You can also get a "lite" [free] account on box [dot] net, and upload it to their servers. I have had an account on box for several years and use it to upload large (250 MB) music files so that other family members and friends can download from that site. Box has been very reliable and easy to use.

Lars - thanks - I'll wait and see what my sound engineer friend at work comes up with.
