Now if you had lived over here you could have sued the hospital and lived like a lord on the proceeds. Nowadays the solicitors hang around the hospitals hopeing for a disaster. I recently helped a client claim £85,000 for a botched test.

I have just remembered we can't sue in NZ, we have what is called ACC "Accident compensation Claim" which means in the case of someone stuffing up you waive the right to sue and have to claim off the state, it does not cost to make a claim but you don't get the big figures that you get in the UK or the USA.

I suspect I suffer from jealousy. i would like to earn what they do. The last one I employed charged me £200.00 per hour.

Honorable teddy,
A former acquaintance of mine works for a Manhattan Wall Street Arbitrage Company as Corporate Counsel - He earns $3600,00 an hour!!! And he always piqued me about my not attending Law School. No, I'm not jealous since he works 100 hour weeks on average and his wife is as mad as 1 million hornets in an aluminum barrel being kicked around...

But my wife is lake that and I don't earn a fraction of what he does. My cousin from America came over to take a job. just graduated, first employment, £90,000.00. with a Corporate law firm. The pen is indeed mightier than the sword.
