• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

My practice organ died :( + Does anyone know where I can get a pedalboard?

Glad you found something.. To me a Hammond is good for practice and popular music. My first organ teacher had a church model and it was not that bad for an electronic in those days... Anything is better than nothing and full pedal board a big plus...Have fun....

Yeah, but my heart jumped when they said the pedalboard wasn't connected...... u.u They said they'll try to put it on.....and they said if it works, they'll give it to me for free.

*crosses fingers* I hope it works....... I hope they know what they're doing.....

Hallo Silver! I'm very sorry to read about all this nightmere of yours...I still have my old Lowrey T2 somewhere in the basement...Its a sad story back in 1983 when I had to lent it to my late(now) brother Luke for some gigs. The organ had two manuals, a one oct pedalboard, an external combo amplifier with a 12'speaker and a big horn, and a volume pedal all connected to the organ with big fat cables ending in multi-pins. Sadly thieves broke into the rehearsing studio and stole many things icluding my amp(the power on swicth was in it) and my pedal board...I tried for years to fix my organ to play installing new power swicth ect and got nothing at all.So it ended in the basement.
I give you some alternate route.
1.Go to Emporio600 site(JazzHooves) and then to Peterborough Organs in UK, maybe you can find some good stuff there.
2.Go to Classic Organ Works site. They do a fantastic work. They will give you advice(sign up)
3.Go for a virtual organ solution. I believe its the best way nowadays.. (maybe the only one). It's not difficult, and not so expencive if make a good planning of what exactly you want.Buy two 49keys Cme keyboards(fantastic features, usb fast plug and play, a bit soft-for my taste-touch, can use the drum pads for stop on/off) about 130euros each, then download Hauptwerk free edition and Midiger 216(free) theater organ. The expencive thing is the pedalboard(midi).Bohm, Classic organ works they make all sort off, starting at 1000euros...Install Asio 4all(free) for zero latency when playing from your computer.
Go to PCorgan.com.The guy gives huge information there, hard work.
I hope I did a little help for your problem.Post me here if you feel like...
greetings

Panos- that all sounds really great, but sadly the UK is the other side of the world for me. And I need a real organ to practice on, something I can feel. But thanks a lot for your advice, I'll check out those websites!

And everyone--- THE CONN WASN"T GOOD AT ALL. I was so dissapointed! They got it out of thier storage but it was extremly dusty, they still didn't have the pedalboard on, and it was at least 50 years old. It was soooo sadly out of tune! I couldn't even play anything! And all of 3 stop tones..... it was so sad!! D: Oh well the Universe has something better for me :) *continues search*

Ok Silver.Thanks for your reply!
I agree tha the organ must be solid , big enough to get the feel.Yes.
I was talkin' about the sound.Modern digital sound with relatively low cost.
Do not be sad at all. I waited for a good organ, to put in my electronics and I was lucky to find my Yamaha EL900 from the Internet, with the assistance of af a trusted Athens dealer. This organ was sittin' in a living room somewere in Japan and the guy who owned it didn't want to play it! So he sold it. It cost me 1.300,00euros(about 1.500 US dol) including shippin' from Tokyo to Athens and some profit for the dealer!!.Condition : EXELENT!(sitin'in living room...unplayed...). So do not despair.
Check Peterborough.Search!!
