    Hi dombedos,

Let me congratulate you on the fine work that you are in process with. It is a true joy that such fine craftsmanship is so very much alive. True organbuilding tradition will never die out.

    Cheers,

    CD

Just one question: Why all that effort to build an organ which admittedly cannot play more than certain types of music? It sounds rather old-fashioned and rather useless.

I had to do some Googling to find out what "French pedal-board" is. One quick showing in the video had something I've never seen before. Looks like something from 1600, and this is 2010.

There are those among us who like a bit of nostalgia, there are plenty of vintage cars, steam trains. old aircraft and other things preserved and in use and also replicas, why do museums attract visitors? Should we dispose of everything over a certain age? If so how much longer have I got, I'm 76 on Friday?
    Cheers MIKE.

    Well done dombedos

That is a good project, I think it is wonderful that old things, including organs are being preserved. Don't worry Mike we will pickle you and put you in a jar.

no problem, guys! The Dom Bedos was builted because financial supporters want excatlly THIS ORGAN, a Dom Bedos de Celles "replay" and not a modern one.. Now the sensations are really unbelievable. The organ has own strong tipology, and play it is a wonderful time travel. Many many visitors wants to see and to hear the strange french organ in a 1200 church ;-) ; we should have a generical organ builted to play all kinds of music.. but .. how many great organs there are in the world today? Instead.. only One Dom Bedos was built after French revolutions to today :-) so it has only two old brothers: S.Cecile in Albi e S.Croix in Bordeaux . :-).. and .. Pinardel during off line trials, plays SUMMERTIME with our girl.. in a unbelievable warm atmosphere.. the Dom Bedos founds was so warm as the finest wool.. :-)

    Hi!

    Yes! I'll be there!

Mention is made above of the funny pedalboard. Last summer my son and I were at St Maximin and we tried the old French pedal board. It was easier to play! The notes were just where one needed them to be! So don't spurn it 'cause it looks different.

    Best wishes

    Hi!

The volcanic eruption in Iceland has put paid to our plans. Bags packed . . . and stuck. No flights tomorrow either. Really annoying. So PLEASE can you do recordings and or video and give us reports from the weekend's events?

    Best wishes

    David P
