    New member from Athens

Hi to all of you with warm greetings from sunny Athens !

I'm Ghekorg7 your new member and friend. I'm a professional composer/musician (piano, organ, sythesizers, harpsichord) and also an... advocate(barrister)!! Yes. Imagine winnig a case in the manner of improvising a toccata for 3 manuals&pedals or performing a 5voice fuge with court-room dicipline.
I compose a lot since 1979, mainly in ethnic-jazz/classic form, combinig group and symphonic orchestra.
I love pipe organ.I can cry easily in the sound of a full coupler Cm or a tremullant Crumhorn soloing in a huge medieval church...
One-two of my favorite works are Shostakovich's 5th symphony, Bach's passacaglia and E.Weber's Following morning.
I found you searchin' for things about hauptwerk. Thanks to it we can now bring huge organs into our homes with an exeptional quality and practice -perform with no limitations.Beautiful.
But. I believe it's expencive-475Euros- plus the expence of good sampling sets(mostly around 200euros). There are people out there who can't afford it and deserve to have it...
I still use the free edition with all the free sets available.
I salute Sonimusicae for their work.Beautiful and free for all.
I use also Grand Orgue. No problems at all(Asio for all).1025 polyphony no latency + transpose...

That's all for now, I believe said a lot, but I wanted, at last, to communicate with people sharing the same dreams(this is my first ever communication/post to a forum/org ect).

    Thanks to all of you

Hi Ghekorg: Welcome form sunny Greece. I too use the free edition of Hauptwerk as well as the medizier 216 theater organ,,, as I an retired an on Social Security so not much extra Mooney for anything these days. I enjoy and find the free editions satisfactory for general playing purpose. I have yet to set up pedal but Do have 2 manuals so far. For all the years of playing organ I find it amazing the amount of music you can play with only manuals...which of course in early days that is all they had anyway, Take care and enjoy your time spent here.

My friend Wljmrbill, you got hits here, on target! Two manuals, for years..I know well, believe me.The last time I played in a real pipe organ, or an electric with pedals was back in 1981! from then untill May2009 only 2 man, or three/four as a multi kbd set-up. I've got the yamaha el9oo from May onwards and I enjoy it very much, especialy with Hauptwerk/Grand Orgue, and of course Midiger216 & 150! Beautifull aren't they?! I look forward to talk with you again ! cheers

Hi Ghekorg7. Welcome aboard to you as well. - And again - thank you for saluting me in my thread.

You seem to have really a lot of experience, - and still updating! -
Very useful information on the sampler softwares -
Im gonna check it out. The free stuff sounds interesting
    - at least for now! (i already spent +/- 2500 $ on
Reason software and ReFills. Its excellent stuff, so its worth
every cent, but it would be nice with some GOOD free stuff for now)
Would you happen to know a good set of Rhodes? (free or not free)
(Yeah - I know, its probably not your apartment, but then again - I
might be lucky that you know it, right?)

Would love to hear some of your compositions and Im
looking forward to communicate with you in this forum!

Hi Franks.Thank you for your kind words, it feels good...for an owner of a lonely heart like me.Anyway.
Every kind of keyboard instrument IS and allways will be my apartment. I had in my hands throu the years a lot of them and I remember them all.To make my point stronger I tell you that in my basement rests silent for ten years, in "his" flight case, my Prophet 600 ! I got my 1st Rhodes 73 suit-case Mk.II back in 1982, best of the best! Yes I know where you can find the best Rhodes there is, to download it along with THE Hammond B/C-3, Wurlizer EP200, DX7(e.p. only) and the amazing Leslie with an icredible effectizer all in one file !!!! It's free download(with a nag screen telling you to donate for something, witch disappears after a minute or so) and in VST form but I know the way to transform them to stand alones, I tell you If you're intersted to.I also got 3 virtual Mellotrons, one of them 's the Mk.V the one with the two manuals side by side(Tony Banks played one with Genesis in 1969...), two minimoogs(I had the original from 1979 to 1983), an ARP 2600 and so on, all free downloads - not a penny spent... Try this site : Gersic.com and go for the bigest free VST library on the web. You need a pathfinder in there.. The site for the Rhodes ect is SoundFondsIt_oldies, its easy to find it anyway.I allways use Rhodes in my compositions, my best sound is the suit-case with stereo tremolo, with mono phaser in it, going both to reverb of 1 1/2 sec.
I want to share my compositions here with my new friends in this ship, I just try to understand how can I do it, I mean how to upload here as mp3 files.Wait and see.
You can allways communicate with me, feel free.
    Best regards Panos
