Hi all!

Does anyone know of a resource that I can download small clips or short films that have no score?

I'd like to try my hand at scoring a film or clip but finding musicless material is extremely hard!

Doesn't have to be any good, just needs to be a few different scenes!

Thanks!

Hey Kren,

That's a pretty big task your undertaking, music-less music is ridiculously hard to find. What we used to do at my old music licensing company was encourage our roster of artists to create short youtube videos (30-60 seconds in length) using their digital cameras. The trick to the vids is conveying a certain mood and backing that mood up with your own original piece. This is real easy and can be done with as little as 2 ppl. It's not as good as getting something thats already created for you but it helps get your practice up! If you need any more help i have a few ideas that could set you on the right path.

Tape (or transfer to dvd) without sound then record your score and merge.
That gives you unlimited resources,

You can always get silent films, or, the old standby - the original Dracula before the Phillip Glass music was added.

Back in the late 1920's. early 30's. studios tried making films without music, there are many around, you have to dig. Dracula was one of the most memorable. MANY just did not work. You also might want to try "The Birds" - Hitchcock.
