    Do you believe In Ghosts?

    Hi,

I must say that When a man dies, he is called dead, but when he again appears in a subtle form not visible to our present vision and yet acts, such a dead body is called a ghost.

So in my views Ghosts are always very bad elements, always creating a fearful situation for others.

Not sure believe in ghost But I do believe in spirits.. whether they be good or bad. From what I know a ghost may be seen and a spirit is not ever seen. I do know there have been times in my life when I am sure I have felt that spirit from the other side. They seemed to have occurred at late evening when I was practicing in the church ( different ones and in different sections of our country). I know sounds strange,,, but mainly happened when I was stuck on a section of a piece and said alittle prayer for help getting it together and as I continued to practice the section I would feel a little chill and like someone one was with me.... then usually I would play the section right...... often thought it was an old organ teacher I had that I thought so much of who met with a very tragic unexpected death coming back to help me again. She died in the 1963 and my second year of college.

I've had several "spiritual" encounters with those who have passed on ...

It was just a few days after my Son's mom passed away (we were divorced a couple years prior) ... I was at work, on the graveyard shift, taking a smoke break outside, and out of nowhere, a plastic bag came flying through the air (there was NO breeze that night) the bag encircled my feet several times, and I sensed the spiritual presence of his mom ... I said out loud "don't worry, I'll take good care of our son." Immediately that plastic bag swirled about me a couple more times, then went sailing upward, off into the dark of the still and calm night ...

Another time, I was attempting to rebuild a wooden gate and was having a miserable time doing it ... I had just about given up and said out loud, "Ok, Dad ... I need some help here!" My Dad was a journeyman carpenter by trade and had passed on some 12 years prior ... immediately I felt a hand on my shoulder and then instinctively knew what I need to do to finish the task. The gate turned out wonderful.

I have never seen a ghost, but that does not mean they don't exist. My mother-in-law insists she and a friend saw one, a lady dressed in old fashioned clothes. Apparently all they had been drinking was cocoa, it was in an old building maternity hospital. I have sometimes felt as if some-one is walking over my grave, when I watched the film "Picnic at Hanging Rock" I felt spooked. Of course that could be just because of the eerie story.

One school I went to the building was put up in the 1800s, the previous building on the site was imhabited by Oliver Cromwell. Some of the girls who boarded there claimed that his ghost still lived there. Whether he did or it was just a good story, I can't tell for sure.

Well, Bright Week is over but as a member of the Orthodox Church I observe Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday every weekend of the year.

Pyatnitsa is the fifth day aka Good Friday, Subbotye is Saturday aka Holy Saturday, and Voskresenie is Sunday aka Resurrection Sunday.

Therefore, I say *Khristos Voskres' - Voisteno Voskres' !!! Christ Is Risen, Indeed He Is Risen.

    Cheers,

    *smiles warmly* @ Robin

Yes he counts for than all. The problem I have with people who "see" ghosts appearing in clothing is this: why, as a spirit/ghost/spook would you need to be clad? I just don't get it.

Well, in the Christian way of things animals and plants would not have ghosts, since they have no souls. Only humans have been gifted with a soul (I personally think that's what is meant by "Made in His image").
However in Buddhism and Hinduism Animals have an Essence or whatever you want to call it, which is identical in nature to the one humans are endowed with. Yet, since Buddhists believe in reincarnation there isn't really space for belief in ghosts. Personally I am somewhere between the two views. Some experiences have led me to believe that though we are reincarnated (again, only my belief) the soul can wander a while before being reborn. I didn't believe this until I encountered what i think may have been the spirit of my cousin.

This said, though I'm not sure about the existence of ghosts and spirits, I am deathly afraid of them.
