Hi GM Krummhorn,
Yeah, the East Coast is the *Organ Coast*. Might you have heard about what is going on at Washington National Cathedral? Through the coconut wireless I have heard that a Walker *toaster* was installed there to provide *extra sound reinforcement*. I do recall that there was supposed to be a Casavant in the West Gallery and a Dobson at the other end and that the current instrument was to be *partitioned out* i.e. all the pipework going to Organ Clearinghouse to be sold - With the proviso that there would be no *traceable* evidence that those pipes were part of the WNC organ - apparently an original Skinner French Horn stop got melted down
A strangely worded communiqué on the WNC website speaks of the project to be continued *when the climate is more conducive to do so*. Of course, when the episcopal church diocesan offices are suing individual congregations to get ahold of the buildings to fund the mounting litigation costs. Why litigation? It seems that alot of individual parishes wish not be associated with the alternative lifestyle/relationship movement - many are voting with their feet and moving on to the Catholics, Orthodox, other protestant denominations, and starting whole new synods. So, the 2.2 million membership rolls are more likely to be 750,000 - Wow, what a catastrophic drop!!! I was always taught that a good Christian never sues another Christian. However, there seems to be a *new thing* going on and the order to pursue and litigate has been given by the presiding archbishop katherine jefferts schori - What a mess!!!
*If a man wants God to hear his prayer quickly, then before he prays for anything else, even his own soul, when he stands and stretches out his hands towards God, he must pray with all his heart for his enemies. Through this action God will hear everything that he asks* -Abba Zeno-

Could anybody fill us in on the specs of that organ? The church's website says only that it was built by Casavant and incorporates pipes form older versions in the church. But no stop list. 6,000 pipes, which isn't too accurate.
If memory serves me, the Colby outfit makes consoles, which raises the question of why Casavant needed that?
It looks like a pretty extensive console for a four-decker, but it could also be unified half to death. There seem to be an awful lot of division labels. Anyone have a clue as to what there is to it?
Hi dll927,
The specs are right below the picture gallery.
Cheers,
