bill holman the worlds best arranger.

there are many great arrangers in jazz, but i think bill holman is the best of them all. his albums are all great classics and a must buy for lovers of big band jazz.i have them all and listen to them often.i think more jazz fans will agree than disagree with me. anybody think another arranger is better? gord (the hardbop grandpop)

    Hi gord,
I've just been listening to your man on Spotify (His big band in this instance) and found it impressive!
    Does he play an instrument?

    Cheers John

Never heard of him and I can't believe his arrangements are better than Glen Miller's but I could be wrong (it happens often).

john, bill holman plays the tenor sax,but not too much these days,he is over 80 now. he played in stan kentons band in the 50s and appeared on many west coast sessions small group and big band. gord
