This is my problem too : sys exclusive. I know witch sends in witch, I know the codes but I didn't manage to make HW or any other virtual instrument to recognise them.(Midi medic can reed the sys ex codes)
I'll give a try with jOrgan as this thing has this easy feature to reccon what you send and if you like to make it to work.
I 'm also reading (and learning) that jOrgan can control anything , from any other VPO (HW included) to real pipes !
Graham did manage to control GrandOrgue with jOrgan as front end (see thread).
So I believe I'll give it a try and we talk again.

    Cheers

    Hi Guys,

For using SysEx MIDI message with VPO and other midi software - use Bome's MIDI Translator to convert the SysEx message into any other MIDI message that will be understood by GrandOrgue/Hauptwerk/jOrgan/OrganAssist/etc.

You will likely need to use virtual MIDI cables to send the converted messages to the application, but it should be possible to use every MIDI message that comes from the Johannus console for control of something in your software...

Try it and see if it works for you:

(their Classic Edition is free and does SysEx translation...)

All my stop selections are passed on to Hauptwerk, so the cresendo pedal simply changes the stop list and it works fine. I got the expression pedals to work by using the Johannus code (Swell B1 0B FF, Great B0 0B FF, Pedal B2 0B FF).

I just use the piston setting from the Johannus and it selects the stops like the cresendo pedal or just select stops. That way you don't have to use the SysEx messages.

I use Organ Assist with LoopeBe1 to connect the virtual Hauptwerk organ with the Organ Assist organ. You have to create organs in Organ Assist to match the virtual organs you want to use. I have about ten of the now, all free.
