Introducing a neighbour of mine ...

Eeeeiiikkk, I've seen them quite often, of course as I live in Sydney and I really HATE them.

That Funnel web was really scary, I liked the Spider dog though.

I hadn't heard of the Avondale Spider.

A neighbour like that would make me consider moving.

I'm not afraid of spiders, generally, but I'm not into venom.

I've seen Bear Grylls eating grilled Goliath Bird-eater spider on Discovery Channel some time ago. He sure knows how to entertain the spectator.

All humouur aside, be of no doubt. One bite from a funnel web spider will mean serious injury or death of you are NOT near a hospital that houses the anti-venom. All Sydney hospitals do, thank GOD.

I know of a spider that isn't really a true spider and that's the
Grand dad longlegs. I hate those things. They are creepier than
a tarantula. They look like they have eight hairs for legs and a
tiny body in the middle. The most dangerious ones here is the
brown recluse. Their bite will rot flesh where they bite.

Judy, It is a good job you don't live in NZ they must be our most common spider they are in most of our house and on outside, you just get used to them and they do bite but they are very timid and keep the house fly under control
