Seems most of the sound of the organ would be trapped in the hanging fabric of curtains, etc in that middle section ... at least that's where I thought I saw the pipes.
Interesting hall though. I've seen one other at Long Beach (California) Civic auditorium had a setup like that too (sans the organ) ... an arena on one side and traditional concert hall on the other.
With all the draperies in that middle area

yeah - it's a fascinating way to build a theater, that's for sure. Must be a nightmare if the opera and symphony are both playing on the two connected stages simultaneously ... ;-)
