Smile Composer from the Philippines says Hi to everyone

Hello everyone. I just want to introduce myself to everyone and looking forward to get to know more friends here.

Rolan Ambrocio is a Philippine-based composer, choral conductor and pianist. Mr. Ambrocio lives and works in Pangasinan, principally as a full time conductor, pianist and composer. He has been a voice student of Carmencita Gonzales, and a piano student of the notable pedagogue and pianist, Nita Abrogar Quinto, at the University of the Philippines College of Music. Mr Ambrocio studied music composition at the Philippine Womens University. His main composition teacher has been Dr. Wallace de Pue, Professor Emeritus, Bowling Green State University, Ohio and Dr. Kristina Benitez

In 2008, Mr. Ambrocio founded the GLORIA DEI ORGANIZATION to help out-of-school-youth, street children afford the cost of music education in one of the poorest town of Pangasinan:Sual. The organization is compose of volunteers that teaches music theory, instruments, voice, individual voice and piano and choral singing free of charge. This year, the organization will officially open the Gloria Dei Conservatory of music to help more underprivileged children and youth.

Thank you wljmrbill for a very warm commendation. What we are doing goes beyond music, rather, we are helping these kids to have a much better chance to fight for their future. The school is a non-selective school and is free for anyone who is interested. Of course it is free! Unless we are heartless enough to charge them with a music fee. Most of them are scavengers, school-drop out, street sweepers etc. It is as if we are making our own version of the Venezuela's Il sistema.
