I know that 32-bit Windows operating systems only recognize 3GB of RAM. In a 64-bit Windows OS, can GrandOrgue handle any more than 4GB of RAM? If so, are there any special configuration considerations?
Thank You,
Jay

Hi Again Jay !
See somewhere in GrandOrgue v.2 thread here a discuss between Graham and me about.
Anyway, my system : windows7 64bit 4GB Intel Dualcore fast 2.2Ghz Realtek with Asio4all. I'm very happy with.
GrandOrgue works great with 64bit and dualcore as with quad cores and the new i5/i3. Better handling, faster loads and much more polyphony on v.2.
Great stuff !
Now we wait for midi assign parameters for pistons to generals (see also the thread) inside GO with program change commands ect and also a vsti version.
And of course more and high quality organ sets to play with. A 4man/ped English Cathedral?!
Have you tried the multi version ? (opens 8 GrandOrgues in desktop level !! - meaning 8 different sets combined - go for a 5 manual with a hudred plus stops .....!).
Hope I helped
Cheers

Hello Again, Panos!
When our Church organist came over to my house to play my VPO, I believe he thought he would be playing something equivalent to a Casio keyboard from Wal-Mart. To his surprise, he was totally blown away!!! Now it looks as though I may be converting a console for him. I have not yet seen the console. So, I don't know how many manuals and stops it will have. I am guessing it has a minimum of three manuals with at least 60 stops. I was wondering how I would deal with this using 32-bit software; but I could see how opening several instances of GrandOrgue would work!
Thanks Again,
Jay
Is there a limit on the number of stops GO can cope with?, I'm using 39 so far. I would think the limit is determined by the amount of RAM available, I have 2Gb in a dual core 32 bit running XP, my other PC identical except for only 1Gb barely manages the original SM extended.
Cheers MIKE.
How many roads must a man walk down ... ... before he admits he's lost?
Hi Guys,
GrandOrgue 0.2 is a Windows 32-bit application and therefore subject to all 32-bit app limitations. 32-bit apps typically cannot see any RAM above about 3.75 Gigs. This is one of the reasons for the Mulit-version of GrandOrgue 0.2. The other reason for the multi-version is to create multiple audio chanels...
Apart from memory limitations, there is a limit to the number of Stops per manual - 64. This is set in the code, so if you want to request more do let us know
We are working on a Bug-Fix release of GrandOrgue (GrandOrgue 0.3) that we hope will be ready for some testing mid-June. After that I guess we can put GrandOrgue 64-bit on the Feature Request list?
Have fun!
GrahamG
Graham,
A 64-bit version of GrandOrgue would be the way to go if possible. Everything is going in that direction. One other feature I would like to see would be panel indicators, such as Crescendo and Tutti, with a few color choices.
Thank you for all your work on the GrandOrgue software!!!
Jay
Hi Graham !! and....
YES, YES. 64bit. 21st century.Absolutely.
I know there is a lotta pressha put on ya this time, but PLEASE, do it and the full screen and the VSTi option and CX on generals and a big 4manual (in your own sweet way) and...and....and...
I think we're spoiled and acting like never happy kids
We all thank you for what you're doing.
Tripple cheers

Hi Panos,
GrandOrgue 0.3 should have CX on Generals, might have full screen, but 64-bit and VSTi will be 0.4 or even later... a 4 Manual organ is a work-in-progress
GrahamG
Thanks Graham, you're my man(remember Lou Reed.."I'm waitin' for my man...
)
Here's to GrandOrgue v.6.3.1 !!!!
Panos
By full screen do you mean the "console" is displayed full screen, I've already got that.
Hi Mike,
By 'Full Screen' we mean the option to change the screen size either using the mouse to drag the corners larger or smaller, or use a short-cut key to 'Full the Screen' with the console, regardless of the number of stops, actual screen size, etc. It will be experimental to begin with, so here's holding thumbs that we can actually do it how we want to

Hi guys !
I like the way jOrgan goes to full screen , just press F11, like the explorer 8 .
All stand-alone instruments MUST have this.
As Fantasia (front end to Linuxsampler) does (with drag corners).
Very usefull when we have to work for some hours and our eyes get tired......and a feeling that we play an instrument than a computer program !
