    Cheap neo-romanticism

I have read in a number of places about the 'cheap neoromantic' music being written today. I am curious as to what sort of composers people refer to as being 'cheap neoromantics', and what does everyone else think of this sort of music?

Neo-Romantic music goes back a long while. Think for example of Barber's "Adagio for strings" which originated as a movement in an early string quartet, circa 1930. If neo-Romantic music is at least 80 years old then when did it become "cheap"? Recently?

I like some of it myself..... my music is like my friends I pick them for their individual qualities not as a race or group. "Cheap" I think is in the eye of the beholder;mush like "beauty" is to the eye.

I also love neoromantic music, which is why I am curious as to what people mean by cheap. Most of the places that I came across this term were in reviews for avant-garde CD's, which leads me to believe that 'hardcore' fans of such music find neoromanticism to suggest that composers don't put as much effort into their music as composers of the avant-garde. I like both styles, and don't really think any music cheap (except maybe for rap).
