What do you recommend to me?

One that comes to mind quickly is Prelude, Fuge et Ciaconne by Buxtehude. Starts off with a pedal intro in C major - quite the "flashy" piece and not one that takes a lot of work to master in quick order.
A much longer piece would be Sonata I by Felix Mendelssohn. Starts off very heavy with manual 16's, mixtures and reeds ... the Adagio is very sweet ... then the Recit and final movement - very exciting to hear and play. Certainly a good workout piece - I've played it many times in concert - however you will need a plethora of pistons if doing this on a two manual, as it was really written for three decks. It's my most favorite of all the Mendelssohn organ works.
Surely you know of the IMSLP site? All public domain stuff there, ripe for the picking with all downloads in PDF format.

It would be helpful to know your preferred level of difficulty, before suggesting pieces. However, depending on this (and the amount of time you might take to learn a piece - and the amount of practice time which you have available), one or two movements from Widor's organ symphonies might fit the occasion. For example, the opening movement from the Symphonie Sixième answers your brief description, as does his Marche Pontificale, (Symphonie 1re, No. V). Or the Marche (No. 1 of Trois Pièces pour Orgue, Op. 7) by Augustin Barié.Originally Posted by lombardo

My proposal : Buxtehude : Praeludium (and fugue) in F#minor BuxWV146 !
Great entrance, fast and forcing audience to pay attention, then great tutti chords in a row , leading to an extremely melodic fugue , witch transforms to a contrpunctal Vivace and ending with triumphal pedal with tuba mirabilis added on the last 10 or so bars...
Get the score from IMSLP and start to work. The music is so strong that will lead you easy to accomplish it.

You never go wrong with Reger's Op.57 Symphonic Phantasy and Fugue...
In fact many pieces come in my mind when you mention the word Bombastic...
Lets say, Widor's Syphonies tend to be like that, lets say the Allegro of the 6th or the Final of the 3rd and 8th, and many others.
Bach also has many pieces which can be described like that.
For instance lets say fantasie and Fugue in G minor BWV 542, or even the overly played BWV 565. BWV 566 and 546 are also nice and so are many others.
Liszt has written some heavy music -as usual- as well, and never forget Max Reger as well, like the "Wachet auf" Fugue, or the famous "Inferno" fanatasie and fugue.
Actually i can keep on saying more and more till tomorrow, cause really, there are many pieces which CAN be bombastic, and of course the way you are going to interperate them certainly affects the final result.

I want to thank you all for your suggestions and I decided to play the Marche Pontificale from CM Widor with a little arragement. I'm going to try to record it.
