Another Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ is being resurrected from non-use. This particular one, one of three built by Skinner for Arizona churches, will be installed this summer.

Hi David,

Haven't ironed out the final program as yet - waiting for the stoplist that will be available for the first phase (approx 10 rks). The donations for the 2nd phase have been pouring in quickly, so there could be between 4 & 8 additional ranks by October ... or not. The 3rd and final phase will add the final number of ranks to make a total of 25 rks.

It's a long and narrow nave - with excellent acoustics.

How does one find out about these giant old organs that are stuffed in some storage shed? I've always wondered that...

Hi BethWagner,

In this particular case, a local organ builder knew this particular church was seeking to replace a toaster with a pipe organ. These organ builders seem to have a network all their own knowing where these gems are, and what kind of price to ask for them.

I haven't yet finalized my program - I'm waiting for a stoplist of which ranks will be available for a concert in October.
There's a chance, slim at best, that the organ may have 15 ranks working by then.
