Hey Finn, my friend, nice to see you here again. Yes, eBay is also full of shite, one has to be careful, that's for sure.
Are you enjoying a beautiful, hot Finish summer?
Nice resource to know about David ... thanks for sharing.
A lot of those on that site I have had in my library for many years ... sans the "Lorenz" editions, some of which are "abridged" arrangements of the original.

Lorenz must have been a brother to Reader's Digest then? ;-)
That's a good way of putting it, David ...
I detest, even to this day, the arrangements (butchering & abridging) that Lorenz did to lots of wonderful pieces, just so they could sponge some money off others grand works, that were perfectly playable before the meat shop editing. I've long since removed those pork chop pieces from my library.![]()

One evening I went to my church to record a couple of pieces, but it was simply too hot to play. We've had two weeks over 30°C, now it's only 27,5... Don't bother to tune the reeds either. Instead I bought a swimming pool
Actually I have ordered a lot of Lorenz' booklets from the Ebay. It is good to have "easy-listening & easy playing" (mostly sight-readable) music at hand, when one plays services week after week, year after year... Plus that I like to play and listen to the the schmalzy American service music style (instead of Sweelinck or Frescobaldi for example, which I find utterly boring). It is of course a matter of taste. Mine may be bad...
I see the very last one is Stainer's "Method" seem to remember someone recommending that a few months back.
Finn, that's amazingly hot for your normally froozen part of the world. Even in summer, Finland rarely gets to the high 20s, right? Must be global warming my friend! Are you in the south, near Helsinki (a lovely city I've only visited once)?
Finland is not as cold as most people think. It is not at all unusual to have at least 2 weeks over 25 degrees. This summer has been exceptionally hot in all Europe. But with air-conditioning and a swimming pool quite bearable
I live in Turku, the oldest town in Finland, at the south-western corner of Finland. Though we are only 5,3 million inhabitants, we have over 1600 organs and 900 FULL-TIME church musicians.
