Hwpt Enigma organ RAR files..can you split them ?

My dedicated computer for my organ does not have internet connection, so any free organs I download are transfered to cd...but the Enigma organ, in RAR format, is too big to put on a cd. Is it possible to make the files smaller, which I could then transfer to my non-internet comp ?

    Thanks,
    Mike

RAR is a zip file, so you need to unrar first to release the file(s). If the resulting music file(s) is/are still too big, you can split them up with audacity (freeware).

    Hi Mike !

Try transfer Enigma .RAR (witch is allready compressed anyway) not to a CD but to a dvd+R witch has about 4,7 GB free space !!
I got all my Hauptwerk .RAR sets stored (backup) in dvd+Rs. Some big (free) sets are using the whole dvd...
As I also do for GrandOrgue and jOrgan sets.

Enigma is not so big, so I have it along with Brut-Leuchten in the same dvd.
I only hope your computer can read dvds...
If not, get a USB stick (starting from 4GB on) and transfer Enigma .RAR to it and then to your Organ computer - it must have a USB slot, no? -
I got a friend who stores all his virtual instruments/studios/music files to USB sticks only.....

Of course you can get an external hard disk (500GB or more) an store everything in it and get the Enigma .RAR from this to your comp (USB con)

    I hope it works
    Greetings and cheers

The RAR file will still need to be unzipped before it can be used.

That made me laugh..I tried to buy a 4gig flash drive, but PayPal was down, so then I checked out the forum and saw your comments..must be something to do with 'great minds think alike' lol.

You can split up the Enigma rar file into smaller pieces but if you are going to load it in Hauptwerk, you have to put it back together again.

I used some of the enigma files in GO, added them to the Steihr Mockers set. Had to extend the range though, they are about half octave short, mostly at the top end.
