They were actually performing a dance known here as the Hokey Cokey, much loved towards the end of parties at which copious quantities of happy juice are consumed.
It starts
"You put your left arm in
You put your left arm out
in, out, in, out, shake it all about
You do the hokey cokey ............ (clasping hands across chest and rocking form side to side)
then you turn around,
that's what it's all about
subsequent verses use right arm, left leg, right leg then whole self.
Dates from the 1940s AFAIK.
Not dumb when you've had a skinful![]()
Cheers MIKE.
How many roads must a man walk down ... ... before he admits he's lost?
yes we have the same dance here and usually learn as children in school ( or used to in the old days). Still a fun time even for old folks..

I once saw a great T-shirt that read: "what if the hokey-cokey really is what it's all about?"
Excellent clip Mike. Has anyone seen Bill Bailey's "Kraftwerk" version of the same song? Also brilliant

Nice to see musos enjoying themselves - and my three-year-old loved this and was singing along. Thanks!
In other words you're going for the long wait record huh?
(and no, we don't want any "long weight" jokes)
