Thanks for the clips Colin. I have heard of her, but not really heard her if you know what I mean. Not a bad voice, but can not say that she appeals to me.

Ah. I am safe. Seriously I will listen to her and give her a chance. Will report back

Hi Colin,
Since this is not really a jazz thread I wil put on what I call my "Classic Pop" hat and tell you i greatly approve of the tracks
you gave us.
Tony B. has always been one of my fav. singers and while I cant say I have heard of her, I enjoyed the contributions of
your pet lesbian.
Thanks and let us know of your other favourite non-jazz artists please.
Here is one of mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC1Q6...yer_detailpage
Cheers John
not jazz, but close to it, western swing pee wee king and bob wills and the texas playboys are the best.

@John I don't really have any favourites John but I used to enjoy ABBA

Hendrix. The man who taught us to appreciate the unusual when it came to electric guitar. Wonder how he would have developed if he had survived. Have two vinyls of his

I have to admit it - There is no Classic Pop singer who beats Sinatra

Never really appreciated Sinatra when I was young, actually preferred him as an actor, but I have realised over the years that he was a good singer and performer. he had the ability to really hold the audience.

No question teddy. Sinatra was an excellent actor (for example "From here to Eternity" and "The Manchurian Candidate"), but I have rated him as a singer since his 1st hit with harry James
