Das alte Jahr vergangen ist - BWV1091

Fall is runnin' and I felt I wanna play something from the Grand Master, just to keep my mind as clear as possible to overcome the obstacles life brings before me so often...

So I turned to BWV1091, a work with concentration demands.
I play my own custom virtual with SIR2 environtment.
    Registration : flute 8'+principal 4'+Quinta 3'+Octava 2', positiv manual only.
I know the work must performed faster, but I could play to just 60bpm witout mistakes.... Sorry about that.

The recording is the best I can offer with the equipment I have available : mp3 with top quality to 100 and 325kbps.

    I hope you enjoy 1091 as I did !

    Kind regards
    Panos

Not sure what the tempo is suggested: but I enjoyed the perforamce and nicely done. I can see myself sitting in the pews. Thanks

I didn't think it was too slow, really.
Werner Jacob took his time even more, for instance.

Nice thing with Bach's organ works: they are effective at almost any tempo.

    Good sound quality, too.
    Thanks for posting!

    Btw: I love autumn.

    Thank you gentlemen !
    Autumn leaves falling...
There's no tempo suggestion on my music sheet, yes, but I think I saw somewhere (CD?, book?...) that must be played at 116bpm.
If so, is fast and difficult at 116, even that there's no pedal part. No?

what note recieves the value at 116bpm? That would make a big difference in the tempo as such.

I played 60bpm the quarter note.
So I was talkin about 116 for quarters.

Very nicely done, Panos. I didn't think the tempo was too slow either ... there are some who think that all of Bach must be played at break-neck speeds for reasons unknown - I don't think ol' JS Bach would have objected to your tempo at all ... it actually added a reverence feel to it, imo.

Lovely sound and fine playing, Panos.
I wouldn't want it any faster.
BTW here in Sydney we have the trees and gardens blossoming.

Thank you Krummhorn and Analogicus !

I liked that "Break-Neck Speed" , I'll call it from now on BNS and the reverence feel too. So in a work we can add advice : instead of Slow feel > Reverence Feel and instead of vivace or very fast > BNS !

Ah, the Spring is comming down in Sydney....
