    Create your virtual organ in less than 2 minutes

    Hi
    I am writing this software : Myco (Make Your Custom Organ). It is for PC computer and only for Hauptwerk 3.
    Please, see this video.

    + YouTube Video
    ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

    With Myco, designing a new virtual organ with up to 35 stops and 3 manuals is very easy. No technical knowledge is required, you only have to do some clicks with your mouse. Myco will be shipped with its own sample-set but advanced users will be able to use their own samples.
    Friendly yours. Jean-Paul

    I would suggest that if you want it to be easier to sell you make using a users samples very easy... creating an organ definition with shipped samples is something that the Oberwerk software does already. Also, eventually you'll need to allow more than 3 manuals/35 stops...

    You can use and mix your samples as you want. You can have as much template as you want.
    each template is an easy text file likr this one :

    ; STE-ANNE

    ; set = numero du sample set 000000 à 799999 ou > 800000 si custom
    ; folder = nom du repertoire contenant les samples d'un jeu
    ; name = nom du jeu (sera affiché)
    ; color = 0 rouge, 1 noir, 2 vert, 3 bleu

    [required01]
    PackageID=2
    Name=Hauptwerk Standard Components
    ShortName=HauptwerkStandardComponents
    SupplierID=1
    SupplierName=Milan Digital Audio
    MinimumVersion>1.02

    ;
    ; Pedal
    [stop01]
    set=2
    folder=StAnnesMoseley-Pedal-SubBass16
    name=Soubasse 16
    Color=0
    lastsample=77
    volume36=6
    volume96=6
    pitch36=0
    pitch96=0
    separaterelease=N

    How many stops would you have ?
    Friendly yours. Jean-Paul

    Hi Jean-Paul,

    This looks interesting! In regard to how many Manuals / Stops a person would like... I think 4 manuals should be the max, and 60 stops per division should be the max, so that's 240 stops

    On a more serious note, we are in the middle of releasing a 33 rank sample set under the Creative Commons license, and will be adding virtual 'extensions' to it, so it will likely go up to about 40 ranks by the time it is fully released. This would be termed a medium sized organ for most professional organists, so if one uses that as 'frame of reference' then one could see the need to go quite a bit higher than 35.

    Great work so far!

    @ Giwro and Graham

    I am following your advices and making the software for 42 stops rather than 35. In fact it is not 42 stops but 42 ranks. As you can use these ranks with each manual, you can build an organ with 168 stops.
    I'll add a 4th manual later because it requires too much changes in my software.
    Thanks

    Ornamentation Stops in HW and GO

    Have any of you ever experimented with using ornamentation stops in HW and GO? What I mean by this is creating a stop that will play a zimblestern sample , for instance, without having to press a key on any of the manuals. I have done this in GrandOrgue sucessfully now with two stops - Zimbelstern and Nightingale. So, I can click on the stop in the virtual console, and the ornamentation sample will play without any manual keys being pressed. The stop is also the key!

    Jean-Paul - I was wondering how this could possibly relate to your Myco software - or if you even wanted to consider this as a possibility.

    Thanks,
    Jay

    I do not understand very well what you wish. With MyOrgan I had experimented a stop to switch on/off the blower noise. No key was needed, the noise was played in loop but could have been percussive. If that is what you want it is possible with Hauptwerk 3 but not implemented yet in Myco.

    MYCO version 1.0.50

    With this version :

    • 1 ped + 4 manuals, 42 ranks (210 jeux)
    • User's templates allowed (using a small text file), so, samples coming from 10 different sample-sets can be mixed.
    • Samples can be with or without separate release.
    • Folder names and stops names can be different.
    • "One click" mutation generator.
    Avec cette version :

    • 1 ped. + 4 claviers, 42 ranks (210 jeux)
    • Gabarit utilisateur permis (nécéssite un peti fichier texte), autorisant l'utilisation simultanée de samples venant de 10 sample-sets differents.
    • Les samples peuvent avoir ou pas leur release dans un fichier separé.
    • Les jeux et leurs dossiers peuvent avoir des noms differents.
    • Générateur de mutation "en 1 clic".

    ONE CLICK MUTATION GENERATOR
    With one click you can transform a 16, 8', 4', 2' into a mutation stop.
    For example the rank Doublette 2' can become a Flat Seventh 1 1/7, while the same rank can stay a 2 ft stop or be also changed for a mutation for other divisions.
    The pitch modification will be displayed only by the radio button while the text boxes remain available for fine tuning.

    GENERATEUR DE MUTATION EN UN CLIC
    D'un seul clic vous pouvez transformer un jeu de 16', 8', 4' ou 2' en une mutation, par ex. une Doublette 2' en septième mineure 1 1/7. Le rang reste disponible pour le autres divisions qui pourront l'utiliser tel quel ou comme autre mutation.
    Le changement n'est visible qu'au niveau du bouton radio, tandis que les champs Pitch restent disponibles pour un accord fin.

    Hi Jean-Paul, looks like you've been busy . Quick question, the reverb amount - is this the length of the release portion? When will you have a Beta version ready for testing?

    Yes the reverb is the length of the rlease time. We can only make it shorter.
    The beta is not ready, i have a lot of function to add.

    version 1.0.70

    version 1.070 create your virtual organ in less than 2 minu

    by musicalis on Wed Oct 06, 2010 6:40 pm
    This week the program has progressed a lot.
    Now you can save the settings of your organs as text files. So you can reload your projects, remove a stop, add a coupler or detune a rank in a few seconds and save at once the new ODF.
    Graphical design has been enhanced.
    As an example, this small 4 kbd organ draw with Ste Anne Moseley sample-set.
    Remember you can use and mix almost all your sample-sets.

    Importante progression du logiciel cette semaine.
    Vous pouvez maintenant sauver dans des fichiers textes tous les réglages des orgues que vous dessinerez. Ainsi vous pourrez les reprendre pour ajouter ou enlever un jeu, un coupleur ...
    L'aspect graphique a été amélioré.
    A titre d'exemple ce petit orgue 4 claviers construit en 2 minutes à partir du sample set de Ste Anne Moseley.
    N'oubliez pas que vous pourrez construire un orgue en utilisant et mélangeant presque tous vos sample-sets.
