"Last Stand Of The 300", about the woefully outnumbered Spartans holding off the much more numerous {both in terms of troops and equipment} Persian invasion force.

Дети Арбата(Children of the Arbat) A film about the life of a famous film director(Anatoli Rybakov) who grew up in what was a working-class section of Moscow, which is now populated by the very rich. He was once a ardent believer of the Proletariat Cause but he later on saw through the "Big Lie" of Sovietism.

"Zardoz" {1973}, starring Sean Connery and Charlotte Rampling. The only saving grace for me in this mish-mash of a movie was the music accompanying it, namely the second movement from Beethoven's 7th Symphony. This is also featured in the "King's Speech", which I'm sure has to be a much better flick!

    Steve,

Beethoven's 7th was the best part of King's Speech, I reckon, given the fact I was watching the movie in a cinema and the sound quality (and volume) was so good it sent shivers down my spine.

Mat, that is high praise indeed! I know what you mean, though; I can't stop listening to that theme. Even when I do, it's still reverberating in my head. It simply has to be one of the most gorgeous, lush motifs ever conceived by mortal man--Beethoven or anyone else.
