What free music programs are best?

As shown in the title, it is best that music programs are free and downloadable from the Internet? Programs to make music, I mean the program and click involving the point of making your own music with different instrument sounds and rhythms.

    Finale Notepad

    Zachary,
I would reccomend this program http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/demo.aspx This link is a free trial of very cheap music-notation software ($10.00 I believe). IMO this is very much worth the money.

Finale is the industry standard, and I've had to reluctantly switch from Sibelius over the last three years. It would definetly benefit you to familiarize yourself with Finale, and the demo in this link is very similiar to the real deal.
