    MIDI Transmitter

There appears to be one and only one device available that can transmit MIDI data wirelessly. It's a product by M-Audio and has a transmitter and a receiver. However, it appears to be compatible with Macs, not PCs.

Has anyone worked with this unit? I need to find a way to send MIDI data to instruments (including an Allen organ) that are not connected to a laptop but may be able to receive MIDI data sent from a computer in the sound booth at the hall.

I do not know what type of computer is in the sound booth, as I had not considered an option of this type previously.

I haven't used the MidAir but the M-Audio website says that it is compatible with PC and Mac. But the drivers for the PC are only 32-bit.
Also note (if I understand it correctly) that one Midair unit can only handle one Midi device/instrument. If you want "a way to send MIDI data to instruments" I presume you need multiple MidAir units at $150US MSRP each.

    Compatibility/Mutiple Instruments

Thanks, el_supremo, on the compatability question. I am not sure if the MidAir could only work with one instrument because presumably it can send on more than one channel. The instruments would be daisy-chained. The organ uses different channels for each of the three manuals, a fourth for the pedals and a fifth for what appears to be "performance information" that sets the pistons.
