That's impossible to answer. It all depends on your own interest, ability, and the time you spend learning. but it can be done!!

    Welcome aboard, MrFancy.

How long it takes is purely up to you, and how much time you devote to practicing and having an inward desire to learn.

As teddy says, practice times 3. If you read my signature quote (below) it rather sums it up nicely for me.

Good luck with your studies ... you can do it.

"Time conquers all problems"..and this is surely one of them. It will take time and you need to spend time to arrive at your destination. as Teddy say's " PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.. Good Luck.

This reminds me of the old story about a visitor to N. Y. City asking how to get to Carnegie Hall. The answer: "PRACTICE!!".

Would the same work for asking an Angeleno how to get to the Disney Concert Hall???

I lived in the L. A. area for 39 years. Since I left, two rather signal buildings have come into existence: Disney, and the Our Lady of Angels Cathedral. Both are downtown, and either one should be almost instantly recognizable. Any questions??

But I still say that First Congregational Church could qualifiy as the patron saint.

My first thought is are you going to learn a song so you've got something to play,
    right away,
or are you going to take your time to learn a piece to perform and impress,
    right away?
