    Skype chat

We've mentioned Skype quite a few times, usually some positive responses but little or no action.

I have spoken witrh Colin (JHC) a couple of times and Graham Goode in SA, I think Mat tried to contact me once but I was away from the PC at the time.

I take part in a weekly chat with members of another Forum every Monday, up to 7 of us "meet", 4 in UK, 2 in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver) one in Iceland and one in Melbourne, trypically we chat for betwen 2 and 2 1/2 hours starting 9pm UK time, the chap in Toronto is about 4 or 5 hours "behind", Vancouver 7 or 8, Melbourne 10 hours ahead. (slight changes when we switch to/from DST)

As I have mentioned before I am usually on line for up to 10 hours a day (I do break for meals!!!)

If you would like to try chatting (text "instant messages", or voice or even video) sned me a PM and I will send my Skype ID by return. that way Skype IDs are not visible to the bots that trawl the forums for addresses!

Hopefuly we could build up a network of forum members and progress to a weekly chat provided we can come up with mutually convenient times.

A few mambers already have Skype contact icons, in those cases we should be able to make initial contact through that.
    Cheers MIKE.

Further thought, maybe at some time have separate "chat sessions" for different genres, or post a topic for a particular weeks session, could also send short audio clips and have a quiz and/or discussion - what is/who wrote this piece?

Wobnder if a chat room could be set-up here..might be something to think about..Many other sites I belong to have this app.

A chat room would be a great addition to the site - especially if we had certain chat rooms linked to the particular area we were interseted in - i.e. a Pipe Organ Chat Room, a Prog Rock chat room etc

    Just an idea

Yahoo groups used to have a voice chat facility, but it was a bit primitive, they dropped it AFAIK.

I use text chat quite often, find it no problem - in fact sometimes I prefer it to a voice call, but that's just me!!
