Does anyone have a problem with their church?

I'm having trouble with the assistent paster at church for some
reason. I thought I had my prayer shawl ministry restarted to
day and my husband had some chores to do in the kitchen.

Well he got kicked out of the kitchen by the church's cook
and I sit alone by myself with no one showing up. Is that
    messed up or what?

Sorry to hear of this, Judy.

Wondering though, if the prayer shawl ministry was advertised in the Sunday bulletin and/or monthly newsletter, or given mention during the announcements at a service?

It can be disheartening, but maybe give it some time to prosper. Are your prayer meetings held weekly?

Our Wednesday nights are taken with a dinner first and then
a class afterwords. I'm in the choir which I'm losing my
voice over. We don't have prayer meetings on wednesday
nights. I wished they did instead of all of the hoopla they
do to get our attention. My church is like a child with ADD
on wednesday nights. Not really a normal church like the
    others.

This is one of the things which put me off organised religion Judy. Politics and egos start to come into something where there really is no place for them. We have read on this forum of organist being pushed out among other things. Terrible sad.

yes...sad but true.. seems church is becoming more a business then religious group in many areas...all these mega churches..and unfortunately many areas the money(made) needs to go never seems to make it past the excess salaries ( Lord didn't have any ), luxury houses, cars( they do not need or should have ).. so Judy not surprised but it does take time for build a group..Have faith....Bill

Bill, you are kidding? America is all about wealth, money, power and in the church context this is blindingly obvious, especially at the evangelical end of the spectrum. Just goes against all the teachings of the Bible frankly. Equally, living a life of abject poverty is probably not that great either.
I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God.

Its often been said, but you don't need a building or a group of people if you have your own beliefs.
