• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Hi Guys,

A new free (Creative Commons) sampleset for Hauptwerk is now available at http://www.familjenpalo.se/vpo/hw-sets. This is the 3 man + ped instrument (33 stops) of the Bureå Church, Sweden. The sample set has already been released for GrandOrgue and jOrgan, and now has been prepared in HW3 format for your playing pleasure. Please note that this is a Beta release. We will be adding a simple 'Stops view' (with just the Stops/Couplers/Pistons and division labels) and 'organ noises' (Tracker noises, Blower noise, and Stop noises) for the final release later in the year.

Great work Graham !

I was able to play it with no problems in my main lap with Hw3.22full and in my son's small lap with a single Celeron 1.3Ghz and free version of HW3.3.

The sound is beautiful, super graphics and overall package.
I'm waiting for final version with all those effects and sounds missing here.

This set can be the main set for many of us !

CHEERS !

2 quick questions:

- are you planning to also do an extended AGO version for HW as you did for GO?
- If so, can I ask to extend the compass to 61/32... there are some modern/neobaroque scores that this organ would play very well, but it would need the extra notes

Thanks for all of your work!

Hi giwro,

Yes, we're planning to release an extended AGO styled organ of full compass. It will have additional derived ranks and will be extended to the full compass. It will be similar to the extended sets available to GrandOrgue and jOrgan users.

Enjoy!

Thank you very much for this Graham and Lars. I have installed it using HW4 with no apparent problems other than I can't get the tremolo to work but everything else seems fine. What a lovely organ it is.

Hi Mostyn,

There is a bug with the Tremelo :( I only heard about it over this last weekend (it works on the Bröstverk and not on the Svällverk as it should). I will be working on an update this week and will let you know when it is ready.

Kind regards,
GrahamG

David, ........ WHEN ?!!!!!

I'm in for post sampling work, aka downsampling, cutting wav files, tune, loop and then marking (for GrandOrgue) and/or work the release samples for HW and jOrgan.
Especially for jOrgan a creation of an sf2 bank from wav files is needed. Also work on photos, stop close ups ect that go to the virtual console.

I would love to come to Sydney to assist you on sampling, but DownUnder is a looooong way and money's short.... khmmm

Panos - it's fairly likely that you have family here, as Australia has the second larest expat Greek population (besides the USA) outside Europe.
