So will it be worth going to the London Olympics?

    Doesn't sound like it

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...s-2246425.html

100ml of drink, what about people with medical conditions needing more, just makes sure you buy from the way overpriced catering concessions. As if the ticket prices weren't enough of a rip off.

And if you do manage to take any photos you can't post them to Facebook, Youtube or anywhere else on the web

    • 19.6 Filming, photography and taping
    • 19.6.1
Ticket Holders consent to being photographed, filmed or taped, by LOCOG, by the IOC, by the IPC, or by third parties appointed and/or authorised by them.
    • 19.6.2
LOCOG, the IOC, the IPC or third parties appointed and/or authorised by them shall, without requirement of the payment of money or other form of consideration, have the right to broadcast, publish, license and use any such photographs, films, recordings or images of a Ticket Holder in perpetuity.
    • 19.6.3
Images, video and sound recordings of the Games taken by a Ticket Holder cannot be used for any purpose other than for private and domestic purposes and a Ticket Holder may not license, broadcast or publish video and/or sound recordings, including on social networking websites and the internet more generally, and may not exploit images, video and/or sound recordings for commercial purposes under any circumstances, whether on the internet or otherwise, or make them available to third parties for commercial purposes.

    Cheers MIKE.

100ml ... that's 3.3 ounces to us in the US ... hardly enough to fill a thimble.
And no bumbershoots? I mean, it can rain any time it wants to on London ... it was quite the standard sight to see people carrying umbrellas - 9 out of every 10 were carrying them when we were there in August.

We get gouged in the states too .. at arenas .. $7.50 for a small coke that costs maybe 13 cents for the vendor, not to mention that the cup is filled to the brim with ice first.

Yup, Steve has it right ... free enterprise

And you will not be deprived of an umbrella, either!

I shall give going to the venue a miss, too expensive and I have a nice comfy room to watch it from.

many people in the NE of England (including myself) consider London a good place to stay away from.
I may watch some of the interesting events on the box but no-way the opening or closing ceremonies

I stopped going to London when I realised there were too few real Londoners left. It was not the place I knew and loved when I was young. As far as being riped off is concerned I know of far better places, more comfortable and nearer than the Olympics

Well, I'm still here.. born and bred in Peckham, South East London, now living in Crystal Palace. But I won't be going to the Olympics. A few tinnies, snackz and watch it all on my wide screen!

From what I gather it is just about impossible to obtain tickets anyway. Unless of course you are very very important.
