Yeah, John, If I think something's good and worth sharing with my fellow members, I've been known to "double down "on it. In many instances, not everybody looks at both this post and the "rating" one, so I'd like to make sure for those members that they get to hear some of what IMHO is a "lovely bit of jazz" etc.., etc.
Whatever floats your boatMay your reach always exceed your grasp
Ciao for now,
Steve
I enjoy many of the great bands. Basie and Woody Herman Herds plus others. I can't imagine a world without them.
Duke Ellington just squeezes in to my 'could do no wrong category! This clip is a swinger! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=JvnC3U4fG3s

Right Steve I see what you mean.
There has been a lot of interest recently in soprano sax . here is a musician who seems to have done little else.

Cheers John
Lovely. I became a fan of the soprano sax after hearing Cannonball Adderley play at the Monterey Festival (on film). Country Preacher. Loved it and loved the instrument ever since.

IMHO, jazz music just doesn't get much better than this piece played by two geniuses on their respective instruments, Tyner and Trane: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfDoA...yer_detailpage
I couldn't find it by June Christy so here it is anyway
