    Covers

Here's an idea for a thread where you can post links to jazz covers of classical/pop/rock/metal/etc. songs/pieces. It's best if you post links to both original version and the cover. If the recording isn't possible to be linked to, please post info about the album it comes from.

    I'll start.

I believe this is the most covered piece of jazz ever. Like them both

A lively fun song originating from one of my favourite artists, although I heard the Neil Diamond version first, and do like it. Good for summer.

Not to take anything away from Ethel Waters the Lena Horne versions just tips it for me.

This is too good a thread to let it die

BB really made this piece his own, even though it was a cover. He has made some great versions of it with other musicians, but it is probably his duet with Gary Moore ( on YOUTUBE) which really brings the house down.

I like the cover, too, and I'm not a fan of Aguilera... So it's probably thanks to HH

    Now, here's another pair:

    Original BB King & U2

    Cover Herbie Hancock

The first artist and the first to really make a hit of it.

I would have included the Dionne Warwick version if I could have found a decent copy, as I really love her voice.

I think you just need to shrink the screen gord. Maybe you are closing it instead? That way you can flick between the forum and Youtube (or whatever you are using). Can't say I have had any trouble doing this. As a last resort use two reply boxes. At least we will get the results that way. And I know they will be good coming from you.
