    Canadian Brass

How do Brass Bands stack up in your likes and dislikes??
They are a great way for the average person to get playing experiance (if you are a brass player of course) Canadian Brass are a good ensemble mixing various genre in their performances, here is a link to Bach's 'Toccataand Fugue in d minor' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX0Jhk6e2Uw&feature=fvsr

Most interestin, Colin. I personally quite like brass. There is a big tradition in the North of England for it.

Another early start teddy? I have grown to like them as I grow older, the town where I live now had a town Brass Band but 30+ years ago it went into recess due to a general lack of interest so they donated all the instruments to the local High School, now there has been a resurgence of interest from both the school and some locals (including me) but the instruments cannot be found, a great pity eh,

I am very fond of Brass Band music. You are correct Teddy, Brassed Off was a great movie. If I remember correctly it was one of the Colliery Bands playing.

Canadian Brass is a great group - No doubt about it! Personally although, Empire Brass plays with an edge that I find so terribly irresistable.

I like listening to Brass bands, I enjoyed the link. It was the Grimethorpe Colliery Band that featured in the film Brassed Off.

    Here is some Empire Brass.

I agree, I could not say that one or the other was better. I like them both.

    Thank you Margaret,

I could not remember the name of the band, only that it was from a colliery.

That is most enjoyable teddy, the acoustics were not great for brass but the actual music with the choir and bells was great
