    many songs from early 20th century till the late 60s, which might be considered as Israeli folk, have the melody of east european folk songs (mostly Russian and Romanian, where most of the first immigrants came from).

    I personally like the songs with the greek melody, such as this one:

    Thats right Commisar Colin - Boris Shtokolov and Samuel Ramey are the bass singers whose artistry I most like to emulate. Of course, I can't sound exactly like them but I gather inspiration from them to excel in my own vocal artistry.
