    first toccata

Hi: Would like to learn my first 'real' French toccata. Where should I start. Recommendations please - and I like rare stuff too.
I have mastered a good few of the Bach Pre. and Fu. so I have a grade 10-ish technique i figure. I am not afraid of the pedals having been trained to play hymn tunes with my feet with improvised upper accompaniment. Thanks for the recommendations. L.

Well it's not rare, but I think Gigout's Toccata in B minor from his Ten Pieces is a great place to start.

One that is not played as much which I enjoy playing is: Toccata pour Grand Orgue .. Gaston Belier There are 2 recordings on youtube of this piece. In fact I believe I have a post here on this Toccata

If you want something difficult yet REALLY impressive you could go for Durufle's toccata. I'll attatch a recording - this isn't rare either but it is good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuYocbSVlcc

    Hi
If you want to play the toccatas I have written, I will give you the scores. You can hear them somewhere in this forum or on Youtube, channel Organcomposer.
Search for Toccata Negra, Toccata Romana, Retroccata, Toccata in E major (Come back toccata), in G minor, in C minor...
It may be French music because I am French.
