    Classical Artists Who Play Jazz

Starting with Itzhak Perlman joining with Oscar Peterson and Herb Ellis on Guitar, Ray Brown on Bass and Grady Tate on drums.

First the traditional Russian song "Dark Eyes"

A great Irving Berlin standard "Blue Skies"

And an Oscar Peterson composition "Why Think about Tomorrow?"

One of my favorite albums by Peterson.

If you asked for jazz artists who play classical I could name a few, but in this case... I can't think of anoyne right now.

He played a lot with Grappelli which annoyed Menuhin, I don't know if they ever made up again

Yes Mike, I have that album and love it.

Previn also recorded with Itzhak Perlman. Here they are doing Scott Joplin's "Pineapple Rag"

And a composition by Previn called "Night Thoughts"

Austrian pianist and composer Friedrich Gulda, noted for his playing of Mozart in particular was also renowned as a Jazz pianist. Here he performs with Chuck Corea in a Jazz Improvisation for Two Pianos.

Among Gulda's best known compositions was hisVariation on the Doors' classic Light My Fire
