UPDATE: to Nat'l Cathedral 911 services- moved to Kennedy Center

    THE ARTUCLE:

The Cathedral has had to make adjustments to its weekend commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11: A Call to Compassion. Due to ongoing stabilization of damage caused by the earthquake (and the subsequent crane collapse), the Friday and Sunday concerts will be moved to the Kennedy Center. The Sunday morning vigil, forum, and worship service will be held at Washington Hebrew Congregation. The Saturday afternoon concert has been postponed for a future date.

The good news is that the Kennedy Center can accommodate more people. You can reserve passes for Friday night online now.

People with passes to the concerts will receive email updates about using their existing tickets. Those who are on the waiting list for Sunday night will also receive information about receiving passes. Note that we expect the waiting list to consume the additional seats available on Sunday night.

All three portions of the weekend will be webcast live from www.calltocompassion.com. The Sunday evening event will also be telecast live on select TV stations across the country; check your local listings.

A Call to Compassion is Washington National Cathedral living out its mission for the nation. It is an opportunity to honor the victims and the fallen, to help our nation heal, and to move into the future with hope. Despite the damage and restoration efforts at the Cathedral, it is important to carry on our work as the spiritual home for the nation on this significant weekend. We hope you will join us.

P.S. If you haven't yet shared your 9/11 story, share it now at www.calltocompassion.com

Thank you Bill, I love the Brahms German Requiem. I am not familiar with Christine Brandes although her qualifications sound excellent but I know that Eric Owens is a superb Bass Baritone.
