Paper clip technology for pedal boards!

Hi folks. Had a problem with my MIDI encoder and needed a quick, cheap replacement. Here's how I did it for just a few pounds and a few hours work. Thought it might be of interest or help.http://www.pdoa.co.uk/paperclip pedalboard.htmlOddball though it looks, it works extremely well!

That is ingenious Mostyn. I am looking forward to seeing the computer you built out of coathahangers. Seriously, well done.

Fascinating engineering Mostyn. As to your beloved cat, why not? Are not all cats good?

Very interesting concept. I have also heard of using fishing line, eye hooks and a37 note midi keyboard to make a tracker action pedal board whicn seemed easy enought also..... sure cheaper than a midi pedal board.

Just to say that the clipology is holding up well. It is indeed the flimsiness that gives the bendiness and allows plenty of tolerance so that the springs don't go out of shape and position. Galvanised wire tracker action with coathanger wire for the crossbars, all connecting to a 37 note MIDI controller? I may get around to it yet! Looks easy within a console but trickier for an independent pedal board.

    Thanks for the nice comments.
