Interesting and thought provoking article David. A few months ago I got round to watching the film RABBIT PROOF FENCE. It had been on my list for some time. A real eye opener into the way that the whites (a lot of whom were English) treated the Aborigines. Quite horrifying in my opinion. I assumed things had changed, but obviously not enough.

The treatment of indigenous Australians is seriously embarrassing. Our Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, just lacks the balls (! in more ways than one) to deal with this issue. It's farqing shameful.
