    Mike just stumbled across this thread. When I was at school in Margate we went on a field trip to Corfe Castle for "Historical studies" it brings back vivid memories and the pics are great

    @Mike - lovely photos, shame about your crappy beaches, however. I love the first few showing a township, just gorgeous.

    Colin, I live close to Margate and that is where my office is, in Northdown Road. You must remember Dreamland Amusement Park. This is being rebuilt at the moment with all the oldfashioned rides, a sort of historical funfair.

    teddy I was getting all "Senior moment" again, although I did go to school in Margate when I was oh so young the school that I should have said was in Cleobury Mortimer. we had a great bunch of teachers that were so enthusiastic.
