Well what ever happens its Alf Average that will feel the pain, just thought I would mention something about NZ politicians (the ba$^a*ds) when one of our beloved poly's completes 3 terms (3X3X3 years) they qualify for full pension but it is not the same as the ordinary people get 'Oh no' they get something like 80% of what they were earning + 90% off all Air travel plus a lot more that I am unsure about. I bet it is the same in most countries?
A wise man speaks because he has something to say a fool because he has to say something.
Once upon a time people became politicians to serve their country. Now it is a gravy train with the object of riping the a**se out of the job

In Greece Parliament members get full retirement after just 4 years of service (!!!!!) about 3000, or maybe 4 or 6000 euros a month for the rest of their lives (!!!!!!)
Picture this : a person works (if this is considered work....) for just 4 years in a row uninterupted and gets High class retirement full pension. No matter the age . So, we compensate those who lied, made scandals, betreat the country with their actions and let them live and prosper for many many years after.
Nice work if you can get it.............
Of course this "law" was voted and established by them selves for them selves. For the rest of the people are "other" laws.....
Now where did I put that gun......?....

Yes, that sounds like politics to me. There is nothing to stop a new government rescinding these rules, even retrospectively. I agree that it is disgusting to expect the working people to support this sort of behaviour. If all else fails maybe a national strike? Everybody, and I do mean everybody, out on strike for as long as it takes to change things.

You must all realize that the first duty of every politician is to take care of themselves.
