Curved Keyboards past and present, OPUS, the newest ergonomic musical keyboard

Regarding the piano that predates 1890, (by Neuhaus?) and any current curved keyboards that anyone may know of. As a child I imagined playing curved keyboards, and envisioned building one someday, but until I studied pipe organ construction and repair, and took AutoCAD classes, starting in 2000, no really serious attempt was made to build such a thing. I had only done a few models. Now, after ten years of design and construction, I am in the final steps of the mechanical part of the ergonomic musical keyboard I call OPUS. I will keep you posted, but my facebook profile is public view, so look for Douglas Hall, Canon City, CO, e mail verdict2@juno.com. I will post a link as well.

I am very intrigued by this project - I doff my hat in honor to the gentleman who has spent so much time and capital. For sure, not an easy thing to be involved in design, tooling, and manufacturing........

I have somewhere around 1000 man hours into it, and about that many left to complete it. The pedals came from a 1920's pipie organ and have been refinished twice (that I know of). The xylophone bars are finished, but in need of fine tuning, but they will also be a MIDI controller, so pitch will be irrevelant in some situations. Thanks for your interest in this project. I will continue to post the progress on it.
