    565 as a.... Dracula background !

    Hi everyone,

You must remember that in some of my posts I described the reaction of Greek people when they listen to Toccata & Fugue in Dm 565 :
"ah..! Dracula !!!!" and I always shook my head, sayin' tsk tsk tsk....

Well, as I discovered today, this is not a Greek custom.... :-)

    Take a look here :

But, in heaven's name, does this superb piece of music lead to this kinda feelings and pictures and themes ???!!!

It is so sad - My heart is rent in two that so many consider BWV 565 as "dracula music". Especially when the writer of BWV 565 is the diametrical opposite of that which is the demonic.

There is a similar problem with Rossini. During our music appreciation lessons we were told that a sign of maturity was being able to listen to the William Tell Overture, without thinking of the Lone Ranger.

May be some people think so because of the film publication that used BWV 565 as dracula backgroud.but for me, BWV 565 really has it's splendor and beauty when I hear it.
