    Hi from here

    Hey guys!

    I am looking around for various music forums and came across this site. I have experience playing on and off a wide variety of instruments. Right now I am learning the piccolo (with no prior flute experience).

    I look forward to seeing what this community has to offer.

    I was hoping to find some information on playing. but can't really find anything on this site about playing music. Maybe I just haven't dug deep enough.

    Hello thematrixiam - welcome aboard to a superfabulous site with supergreat members all. Congrats on your wish to play the piccolo. A number of flautists have been /are members here. What particularly are you seeking? There are any number of playing methods available on-line to choose from. I would think that since the piccolo is a flute in the super octave i.e. octave above the orchestral flute, it would be very helpful if you would get to know the wonders of the orchestral flute. Off-hand I know not of any particular "school" of flute playing available. But some "digging" would help. Then you could contact your local music school to find out if there are any students would could give you introductory lessons in flute playing, usually for a small sum of money. Really, you are only limited by your imagination and your willingness to expend "Blood, Sweat, and Tears." Good luck in your quest to increase your knowledge and performance abilities.
