No! No! No! Despite what anybody might type about the look of things,
when I changed my domain to prepare myself for the upcoming by-election,
and moved my Magle.dk link to the centre of my Music Title page, in my domain,
I didn't do it so the as-yet-untitled Frederik Magle will give me a better deal on his c.d..
No, I didn't do it just for that, and I'm not just typing about it now just for that, I'm kinda sure.

Oh! My thread here is fading fast, now.
The as-yet-untitled Frederik Magle sent a personal message with his address,
so now it's up to me to get it together.
And get it together I will.
Maybe not to where Frederik Magle will insist on including me in his performances,
after hearing the accompaniment I can provide on electric guitar,
or attaching my pickups to the pipes to trigger electronic effects amplification.
Not only would I be afraid to jostle the bench a little,
but even turning a page could allow so much flanging and phasing it might be heard as compositional.
In the background, but pitch-moving enough to become desirable.
    Jus'typin'.

Yeah! The last municipal election where I was a Regional Councillor candidate, a protest one, is over,
and I made it through the month with $5 still in my pocket, a profit.
This is hard-earned money I'm spending, working on being "Like a Flame".
The $10 I got voluntarily, someone seeing the old pop bottle I found in the sand along Lake Erie and wanting it,
uh, that's "Message in a Bottle" money, highly inappropriate to spend on such an enlightened endeavor.

Here we go! "Like a Flame", now I'm burning.
The as-yet-untitled Frederik Magle has sent me mailing information,
and I'm working towards mailing a package to get this c.d. in return.
Thanks again for agreeing to include a signed copy.

Yeah! I wasn't slight with my talk of work.
Talking about this domain, and about my music, to the son of a former sign customer,
got me a job just walking down the street, thinking about making this musical move.
I'll be pushing my fingers, not into the frets, but into the hand-cut vinyl across his window,
    for starters.
I stood outside with him, since he recognized me, and started waving at cars.
He got three sales within five minutes, and split one deal with me.
A good start. It's nice to feel normal about life, for a change.
That last election, being a Regional Councillor candidate, was the best so far too.
No criminal blowback. I'm investing in myself now.

Okay, okay, so I'm only human, and have to admit to a, uh, weakness, timing.
I don't own a clock, using the timer on the oven, and never wore a watch.
If you want to be where I am you have to come over to be with me.
That's Newfie talk, where I loved to tour.
Playing with Drastic Measures for two seasons, winners of the Toronto Caribana Parade Band Contest,
their first year in Canada, got me into being in front of the beat as much as behind,
leaving on the beat for special musical occasions.
So trying to finish my electric guitar while getting and doing a sign gig to purchase "Like a Flame",
driving people wild with my electric guitar imitation on acoustic, at singer-songwriter venues,
having clothes altered, rewriting songs, and catering to what is now unending requests,
    takes time.

And I've been thinking all along, if I can do this without interesting Frederik Magle and members here,
    my time has gone.

Now, more than ever I'm interested in what "Like a Flame" can do for me.
I was asked to fill in for a guitarist who didn't show up for an amphitheatre concert,
using a small digital amp with effects and choice of pre-amps, toys I never needed,
a do-it-all little amp for making noise in your bedroom.
The Stratocaster style guitar looked and playeda very well, even if I had to play a righty lefty.
The digital feedbacks gave me some separation like you could hear with organ stops and separate keyboards,
and it something I'd like to explore more.
Hearing the natural evolution of tones as demonstrated by organs, and their use, as used by Frederik Magle,
is going to be the first big influence for me since Jimi Hendrix. I can see that now,
and what I can do with my new fretboard, wanting to be symphonic-electric.

Even though I'm not working with "Like a Flame", not yet,
things are progressing on a classical level, here in Welland.
A young drummer, an employee friend, just bought an organ, after listening to me.
He was talking about it, talking about the bands he liked,
and I told him about old home organs, old upright pianos, for free or $20, on Kijiji.
He was excited today, telling me he got an old organ over the weekend,
and was getting into it big time.
I was thinking he'd get this weight adjustable Korg keyboard, with Midi, etc, for $400, something like that,
but grabbing this big console and putting it beside his drums in the basement is working out for him.
I told him about the Thomas Organ I had two summers ago, saying it's better to learn the keys,
than worry about electronics you're not using yet.

That's the opposite of me. I'm not worried about all the sounds I can generate, maintain and move around.
I've got lots of new notes and new harmonics in my semi-solid-body, and I want to proceed musically, properly.

Wow! I forgot about this, what, looking here for the first time in over three years,
reading it all. I like my line about tormenting the too-taught mind.

What has happened to me since then, are crimes against humanity.
I know I'm not capable of typing like this now, getting back to being fully functional.
And I did mail a money order for over three times the purchase price,
for Like a Flame, saying it's in appreciation for me time spent inside this domain.
But now, it's now seen to be an act of theft by a post office employee,
that kept my money order from leaving my home town.
Justice is nice, but moving on with my music is the most important for me.

Staying indoors too much, I started painting with Dollarama acrylics,
and sold the first two paintings to employees in the businesses on the ground floor,
before I was able to show them around town.
When I was showing a few around town, other people was taking photos.
I got a call from Rodman Hall in St. Catharines, a very old and very prestigious art gallery,
saying I could show in a community event in two weeks.
A man came to see me, talking about being an artist in residence.
I met the only artist in residence they ever had, in the late sixties,
when I would visit St. Catharines to go there and look at the art,
and play the full scale Steinway grand piano that sits along a wall.

And then I took a few more drug-overdosing hits.
A woman even put nail polish in a salad I was eating downtown,
burning my mouth. If I was singing as a gig I would have had to quit.
I'm saying nail polish, because it tasted like that, having a little of that before.

Now, I'm over 65, not that another year and a half is too much out of my life,
but being over 65 sounds too much like retirement age, what used to be legal,
having to quit your job unless you owned it.
    But that's okay.
I've been walking around with my acoustic and hitting some karaoke stages,
and creating those kind of reactions and enervating others is still working for me.
    But this is Welland.
Sitting outside downtown one calm and warm night, at a major intersection,
watching the cars go by after midnight,
a woman came over to sit beside me. She is someone I've seen around.
She put her arm around my shoulders, putting her head on my shoulder,
and told me about her boyfriend-pimp, and how she changed his medication,
just to teach him a lesson, but he went into convulsions and died.
This seemed like too wasted talk to me,
until I went to a social services agency and heard this man was dead.
When I saw her again that day, she wanted to talk to me about it,
just not in front of anyone else.
When I was playing up north, sitting outside after a bar gig,
a man who just killed his best friend felt compelled to tell me,
and he exhibited the same kind of strange physical behavior that creates,
    for some people.
Staff and other clients were seeing this and saying that to me.
I called the police to unburden my too heavied heart, and they had an autopsy.
It's been over a week, and maybe today I'll visit and see what happened.
Does that sound like a musical life? No, it's not.
Welland is a deep, dark, criminal hole. It's time to pull the plug.
    As only I can do.

Thank you again, Magle.dk, for being my only musical release,
during these very difficult times. I just kept walking and talking.
