pipe organ music in video games

I just played the last of my Pokemon white game and
I couldn't believe what I heard. It was the sound of a
pipe organ in the music. There are more video games
as well with pipe organ music in it for Nintendo as well
    as the computer games.

I doubt that there are any areas where the pipe organ has not been used. It must add a majesty to the game

The first thing I thought was it would add more realism to automotive exhaust notes,
and possibly add more tonality to sucking on tailpipes.

Corno Dolce! Your Russian tenure seems to be foreignizing you.
Oboloqouy almost made me personal message you,
and now "Kist of Whistles" leaves me fontless.
Now I'm thinking I'm going to have a Cossack in my cossack,
even getting confused about Lenin being Lennon.
That's just not right, even if it's less than what Marx wrote,
even if Marx wasn't known for being a groucho.

    Br. John Watt,

There's only one Marxism and its Groucho Marxism - Lennon is Lenin in a Pink TuTu. Kist of Whistles = Chest of Whistles

Yes, I'm being "foreignized" - My wife and I love living and working here and now we are in-process to become Citizens of Russia. Of course, the officials who process the paperwork joke about Americans wanting to live in Russia when 40 million Russians are doing everything to leave Russia for America. Its a paradox for officialdom but...I'll tell you in a PM later.

That's so nice, being in Russia. There's a couple cities there I'd love to visit for the architecture and art.
Antiques Roadshow has been showing some nice pieces lately.
I admire Russian politics for stepping back from the cold war confrontation,
and getting back to more pre-war boundaries, as difficult as that is.

You might not be hearing about more war in the Falkland Islands,
England sending a destroyer and aircraft featuring Prince Andrew as a pilot.
That's getting a lot of anti-English reactions from all of South America.

I've seen and read so much about Russia, I almost feel like I've been there.
I hope your travels serve you well.
And, uh... is it true? Does "blatski-blatski" depict a strong flatulence?

This is the music. I hope this downloads right.Pokemon Black/White Music - N's Castle - YouTube. Usually on a pokemon game you hear something cute
or some kind of tinkle of music. But this one really got my attention.
Besides the music to N's castle, there were some more tunes that I
recognized in the game when your character goes to the big city.
Yep Nintendo out did themselves with this one.

To add to the last blog, my heart beat loudly when
I went room to room trying to find N to battle him with
my pokemon in the game. It seemed to last for hours
as I went through this castle with the organ music in it.

With the other games, I just love the new age type music in Bejeweled 3.
I will look for other video games with pipe organ music in it.

Not to burst the bubble here, but in lots of cases what may sound like "pipe organ" may indeed be a digital organ - there's a whole host of digital organs out there (many others besides Allen for that matter) that really really sound like the 'real thing'.

It's much easier to record a digital organ as most have "midi" setups and a direct line (wire) is all that's needed to make a recording, whereas the real winded pipe organ must have recording gear set up in the room where it's located, not to forget the need of hiring of a recording engineer making that "live recording" process quite expensive and time consuming.

Nothing can replace the acoustic thrill of hearing a pipe organ in a cathedral,
but I remember when Korg came out with little two octave synthesizers that sounded really good,
and a larger model that "cloned" the Hammond B3, in the early eighties, with a few of the favorite stops.
That was analog starting to arrive.

I believe some of this video game music is really played by a synthesizer to sound just like
the real pipe organ. We all have heard of the vertual organ used by Musicalis. Today's
techonology can make you think you are hearing the real thing when it's really a
keyboard with all the bells and whistles that can make you think your hearing a real
pipe organ in video games. Besides I heard a simular piece played on a real pipe organ
    that sounded really nice.

This is a very modern and high tech thread topic, but, as a Jimi Hendrix fan I have to add...
thinking about real organs versus digital clones really has no acoustic reality for this application,
considering the speakers and sound system computers have for games or movies, whatever.
If you were listening with studio headphones on an experienced person might hear the difference.

Like they say, anything is possible. I played a computer game that had an organ
piece on it done on a synthesizer because I recoginized the tune. The game was
called "Spring Bonus" done by Bigfish games. I know that some games by this
brand Bigfish uses a small orchestra in their games. Especially games like
Ravenhearst. So it can be possible to probably hear a prerecorded pipe organ
    music in the game.
