Question Help with stops/ranks/division disposition :-)

    Hi,

I didn't post this on electronics forum as I need help from the real thing players... he he

With all the latest improvements on GrandOrgue software, I decided to construct for my own use a French Romantic 2m/p set from Caen samples, which on the demo set I got are dispersed randomly between the 3 manuals and pedals.

The plan is to select the appropriate ones for each of GO, Recit and pedals. Also I can create some missing with Sony soundforge 10, but not all of course !!

The ranks I got are :

    From GO :
    Montre 8'
    Bourdon 8'
    Gambe 8'
    Flute Harmonique 8'
    Bombarde 16'
    Trompette 8'

    From Positif :
    Bourdon 16'
    Cor de Nuit 8'
    Salicional

    From Recit :
    Basson-Hautbois 8'
    Diapason 8'
    Flute Octaviante 4'
    Octavin 2'
    Nazard 2' 2/3

    From Pedale :
    Bombarde 16'
    Contrebass 16'
    Grosse Flute 8'

Can you possibly advise which should I use for GO, which for Recit and which for the pedals , so it will sound as closely to a medium CC organ ?

The missing prestant 4' is obvious, as are 4' stops overall and the doublette, but I can create those two principals with sony (for GO manual of course). The mess to choose is with all the other beauties... :-D

Br CD ? I know your favourite is Ste Sulpice , another great CC instrument.

    My million thanks in advance

    Hello
For Grand Orgue I cannot help, but for Hauptwerk-4 (even if you only have the free edition) I can.
See what my software Myco 2012 can do. You can try the version 1.9.9.9 (no charge)
    MYCO is here

    Salut Jean Paul ! :-)

I know MYCO.... I was one of the first who got it when you released.
It's a good app for these tasks.

But, as I have the free version of Hauptwerk 4 I cannot publish anything, even for free. MDA License terms of use. Especially for my site, so I'm using my own VPOs with jOrgan software (all sets offered for free and GNUv3) , my special hybrid jOrgan/Independence 3pro setups and Grand Orgue.

I'm pleased with all, but the introduction of GrandOrgue 3 is a breakthrough. I don't need Hauptwerk after this version. The only thing different and better (for the time being) in HW is the tremulant waveforms pattern. GO supports trem waveform but differently.

Also my problem is not the virtual organ set (I posted here on real pipe organs) to be created, (I know very well to create an odf) It's the arrangement of the stops I have : which goes well with which. of course I have many examples here, but I really wanted to get the opinions and suggestions from my friends here and enjoy from the result creating the set. Then I could share some music with it for them.
    That's my aim.

So, my friend JP, what's your suggestion ? Which from the above ranks can use in GO which on positiv ect ? You're very close to real pipe organs and a Frenchman, and a very experienced VPO creator, so your advice counts much :-)

There is a truism that if you put three organists in a room for an hour, you will get 9 (3*3) ideal stop lists. I cannot even make up my own mind over what stops I want, let alone for others. I would approach your problem by getting as many C-C choir organ specifications as I could find, and analyze them carefully. Good luck with your project!

    Wow !! How lucky I am !!
JP : Great page !! Seems that I have hard work to do.... Can't wait to explore !
Albert : Thanks for the advice ! I'll keep it in mind from now on.

Br CD : THANKS !! I knew you would come up with something special :-D It seems very close with the ranks I got here for the creation of this model.
There's another Choir CC organ in Portugal, our friend Lombardo proposed. Tempted for this too.
But as the new GO3 has many new possibilities (yes like HW) and at the same time retains the many different dispositions (many x odf) with the same rank folders function, it is possible to come up with more than one set !

Either way, be asured that I'll play and publish with the finished instrument(s) !

    I deeply thank you all <3 ***

Our friend Lombardo sent me this GREAT LINK :

    http://orgaos-portugal.net/Orgaos_Hi...luis_franc.htm

This "little" CC is also a strong candidate. It is wisely disposed and I believe it can be used for many works.

I missed this Portuguese Organs site and I'm so happy to explore it to every detail.
    Thank you my friend.
